Okay, I genuinely liked the question! Because you only learn when you ask the right questions.

Firstly there’s no doubt mid size or big brands should have influencers working for their brand every now and then. And if you’re from a pretty decent brand ( I mean one of those who’s atleast spending 5-10 Lakh in a year for marketing ) & haven’t worked with influencers yet, trust me you’ve lost and losing big business opportunities every day till you hire your first influencer.

Ok coming back to the question, Is influencer marketing only for Big or Mid Sized brands? & I would say No. & I will prove it with experience and case studies.

In ahmedabad, nowadays daily 100s of food business are opening on day to day basis. if you won’t reach out to audience no one is gonna come, because daily 100s of businesses posting content and reaching people.

So you’ve 2 options only:

Option 1: Either go organic with proper content strategy. And that’s also quiet costly, I am not saying about you yourself start creating amateur content, that’s not bad, but to get boost you need proper content strategy.

Option 2: Hire influencer for giving you content + content distribution + Higher possibility of reaching more audience. And that’s not about their followers, but their art of creating content.

Otherwise the option that you’ll left with will be to wait to go some lucky content viral and get business. But that’s actually a bigger risk than money because your expenses of staff, rent, bills starts from Day 1.

Ok so let me directly give you examples from different business industries.

One good day we got a call from a small food truck / container owner who was about to start their Pau Bhaji stall in a food court near VIP Road, Shela, Ahmedabad.

& The call was for promoting on our Instagram page called Glorious Amdavad as they had seen our viral food reels, and wanted to do promotion with us.

So here it was small business, also new, also less funded, unaware of influencer marketing – so the question fits here.

So tell me, Should they have done influencer marketing then? Tick Tick Tick – Time’s up!

Keep your answer in mind, and so they called and they wanted to do promotion. But us at Glorious Amdavad are right now a pretty decent good scale influencer, and one of the top creator in Ahmedabad, comparatively charge higher.

So we told them our budget of promotion, and also as an agency suggested small budget influencers, but they wanted to do marketing with us. And we agreed on a good amount.

So before proceeding again, they were new and they aren’t a well funded business, but truely a calculated risk taker. And let’s talk about how it went for them.

So as usual we made a very interesting video, ( link of video : Food Video of Paubhaji in Ahmedabad ) and that actually went viral got couple of million views and they awarded by referring that Glorious Amdavad is best food, best real estate, best lifestyle and what not influencer of Ahmedabad.

And we posted video on 4th or 5th Day of business started. And they started getting rush to their business even we started getting inquiries from around Shela, South Bopal and Sindhu Bhavan areas for promotion.

But the point is they as a small business took risk and they succeeded.

I have another example like this as well, and if not big you can start with smaller influencers as well, but I would suggest if you’re risk taker and want to bang then hire good influencer, whose content you like, not one with good followers.

Because there can be fake followers, but if you’ll bet on content you’ll have higher chances to will win in content game.

and one thing I would suggest is, if you’ve budget go with proper campaign of influencers because there is a game of average factor works and that reduces risk on your marketing spent.

But I would say I have seen business go to skies with just 1 influencer campaign.
